The online slush pile comes through!

Some time ago HarperCollins' UK division created a combination writing workshop/online slush pile called Authonomy. I assume the name was an attempt to marry the concepts of authors and autonomy. AbsoluteWrite posters seem skeptical. I am, too. One of the authors getting a contract was not a beginner, already had an agent, and dropped their book prior to publishing disclosure. At least, that's the report from AbsoluteWrite.

I sense some sour grapes, but I just congratulate the writers and wish them the best. I should be so lucky.

Hmmm. I thought all three books were on the site? Although one woman did remove the original version and repost a new version. Maybe that's what they're referring to?

We should both be so lucky!
