For real, I hope you Australians are doing better at this then we are. We're barely a democratic republic anymore. More like an oligarchy consisting of two parties that both get their money from the same people: corrupt Wall Street finance moguls.

That bad, huh? Look on the bright side. At least you Australians aren't fighting wars in two different countries. Peace is always more desirable than war.

Unfortunately modern politics these days amounts more to "Group X does bad, elect us instead." That (and the Democrats not even bothering to challenge the GOP for a full third of the House) was how the Republicans regained the House in 2010 and how the Dems took it from the Republicans in 2006. Unfortunately it's just the right combination of lazy and self-righteous to appeal to modern politicians.......

The most amazing effect of Inside Job is that it doesnt really tell us anything new that we didnt already know, but now we're hearing it from the mouths of the actual people involved (or rather, from the silence of many of them, which in some cases could be more eloquent than a thousand words).

I wonder what the conservatives make of that movie. On the one hand it has George Soros and Barney Frank in it and neocons hate those two with a passion. On the other hand, it goes after Clinton and Obama who Glann Beckians also hate.

You know, I also wonder how Dems feel after Clinton's treatment in it.
