Eternity 3: Planet Eye

Jan 21, 2011 18:34

Haven't done any art in some time. But today I got an urge to do a picture. I don't know what possessed me to make this. But the idea is of a planet-sized eye floating in space with an odd formation of stars in the background. After looking at what I made, I figured it fit in with two previous works from here and here. My guess is that the Eye is a ( Read more... )

I wish I could do art. Specifically science fiction planets, because I'm into that stuff, but any sort of visual art would be nice.

I would also like to make a custom banner for a new blog I'm working on, but that'll never happen. Unless I take a photo and crop it, but I don't have any good photos to use.

lol so do I, tbh. By my own standards, the stuff I make is pretty much crap.

What sort of blog is it? Is it thematic or more generalized?

Well, I actually don't need a banner now, since after fighting with the stylesheet for a couple of hours I got what I wanted, and now I have a nice picture courtesy of NASA to use as a background. Sorry if I got your hopes up.

As for the content itself, it's aimed at being more of a "professional" blog, one that I can use to advertise my writing skills and hopefully land a job somewhere. I'm told they're somewhat necessary in this day and age. So I'm looking at discussing writing, whether it be in press releases, novels, or what-have-you. But being a libertarian, it will also incorporate a bit of libertarianism (I actually just wrote a post connecting Fringe with Frederic Bastiat.) And there's going to be a lot of science fiction, since that's another big thing. So it's really a nexus of libertarianism, writing, science, technology, with a dash of humanism on the side (and scorn and ridicule aimed at Shakespeare and Strunk and White), with as much humor as I can muster ( ... )

Gee, i even think i can see some gravitational lensing behind. That eye must be really MASSIVE!

Good job indeed.

Why thank you. Although I must admit, any gravitational lensing effects are accidental rather than intentional. That's just the way the digital airbrush and tinting effects came out.

Something the best things happen by accident.

You know, I just had a weird thought. Maybe the gravitational lensing might not necessarily be from enormous mass of the eye. It might be that the eye generates a "warp drive" effect to propel itself through space at relativistic speeds.
