Wai wai wai wai ~

I bought Doris Lessing's The Golden Notebook from Popular Book Store for RM 19.90! From Popular! I've been looking for Doris Lessing's stuff at all the upper end or artsy bookstores and they have everything but The Golden Notebook.

Hah. When I quote a price to my clients I always pause and add, "...but you can always pay me more, if you want". They always laugh.

One client of mine DID pay me more- twice what I quoted, actually!

Well, I work for a land developer on again, off again, as work comes up. Right now I have some down time because we're waiting on consultants to do some land use/marketing stuff.

But for the last couple of years I've made a little money designing house plans, and the occasional small commercial (state law in Texas allows this, even though I'm not a licensed architect).

If you're interested, my portfolio is at http://dal-designs.deviantart.com. Most of it is coceptual stuff that hasn't been built- more to show what I -can- do as opposed to what I -have- done, but the Mullins and Wylie residences are built and occupied right now (they are the only two of my clients that gave me permission to post their plans online).

That looks like really good stuff! I don't think I've met someone in your line of work before.

They might reprice the book in the system (which can be updated in the computer) but it is probably too much trouble to hunt down every book and put a new sticker on them...

Does the bar code on the book have the 978- prefix? That means "new book" -- there's another prefix -- I forget what, but I think it has an 8 in it -- that means "used book" which might have gotten in by mistake.

Yes, it's a new book, there's the 978 code.
