I'm glad that they mentioned the farms again. I did like that there was Kacey later. I like that we see what the Cylons were doing to people. I sympathize with them to a point. Their species really can't reproduce alone. But only to a point. I always wondered if they planned for Kara and Sam to hook up.
But Kara's been thinking about it. Simon and the Farms and Sue-shaun. She came back to rescue and she's not going back for them to take the other ovary. Hell no.
I wonder if Sam could have done it. I also remembered this scene when he offered to maybe kill Hera for Roslin.
The way Kara asked? I think he could have done it. But . . . wow.
Everything in your first paragraph are things the show should've explored I think. I mean Kacey seemed...incidental really. I wish they'd tied things up a little better and been a little neater about drawing lines.
I wonder if he could've done it too. Huh, he offered to kill Hera?! I don't recall that. But then NC is my least fave arc, so I don't remember a lot of it.
Yeah, there was a scene with him and Roslin. She tells him that he has to get the kid out and that she can't fall into Cylon hands or something. He asks how far she wants him to go with that . . . and she stops him, saying, "No, no, no." If I recall correctly. I remember it was an offer. Later, he encourages Tigh to kill Ellen (again, subtly) when he finds she's betrayed them.
Hmm. Recalling this, I'm pretty sure Sam could have killed Kara if she pressured him to.
I'm with Tara - everything in your first paragraph makes me wonder. I think The Plan might have shed some light on that, though Kara isn't actually in it.
I'm glad that they actually showed the impact of Kara's spell in the farm, that it really did hit her full force - while she's with Galactica, she doesn't have to worry about it but on Caprica, where there is a danger, it makes sense that it rattled her so much that she'd do anything at all to stay out of them. But yeah, suicide pact....wow.
I actually love this scene between Sam and Kara. It's so raw - goodness but Katee can ACT! - and it does such an amazing job of setting up the impossible situation of being trapped while trying to rescue the resistance. Thanks for posting this one! K :)
Other shows so often refuse to let their 'hero' show real fear. Cudos to BSG for showing it's arguably most fearless character so petrified of something that she'd rather die than possibly face it again. And Katee's acting leaves no one in doubt as to exactly how scared Kara is of the possibility.
