.... there was something ... an energy flux, I suppose, about the barrier.

As far as I can tell, angels near it were affect to the degree that our contact with Heaven is cut off - to the extent that we're merely mortal with no access to angelic powers.

I'm affected, but I think I'm more used to being human than most, having restricted my own access to begin with.

Something happened at the barrier...something strange. It seems that whoever was close enough was affected and lost their powers. Dear God I hope it's not permanent.
