I didn't rewatch the aired version first, but I'm 99% certain this is extended footage since I think I'd remember it.
When Kara goes to see Sam, before she tried to shoot him she leans down and almost kisses him, and kind of nuzzles against his cheek for a minute, all while crying. It's very sweet and would have made a nice mirror to their final scene if it had made the cut.
ETA: and KARA AND HELO GETTING DRUNK! And talking about what 'harbinger of death' means. WHY WAS THIS CUT?
