I'd like to think Alex and Sean will have a less depressing happy ending than Kara/Sam. Though, on the flip side, Kara and Sam will probably have the better afterlife :D
I mean, most of the scenes were pretty different in context, but I was watching the finale and Sean was holding and injured Alex on the ground, and I was like, wait a minute, and then I started thinking about it, and then I was like WAIT A MINUTE.
I don't need much of an excuse to go looking through OTP screencaps. Although it did make me wibbly over Kara/Sam all over again.
It makes me realize that Sam never had much of a chance to take care of Kara - not that we saw anyway (both Farm and Rapture probably had some sort of tending but we don't see it).
heh, and yeah, I hope for a better ending with Alex/Sean, but I dunno, we may be wishing the series ended yesterday, depending on how much they're intending to crush everyone in the new season. (meep)
Craig has always said he has a 3 year plan, so I'm really hopeful that season 3 is good. I did read that they're going to try to make episodes a little more stand alone next season, so that new viewers can get into it easier. Which...I'm not thrilled about, but a) they've said before that they tried to make season 1 and 2 stand alones too, and they never end up staying that way, and b) they're in a position now where stand alone episodes can be a lot more interesting. I mean, when it was Division vs Nikita, there's only so many ways a rogue agent can fuck over a big organization without it getting ridiculous. But now, there's an opportunity to go bigger in scale on stand alone eps, and I think it could work. Though I'm obviously hoping they don't lose the overarching mythology aspect either. I think they can find a balance. I hope.
I think Alex/Sean are safe, at least for now. The thing about Nikita is that it has the potential for darkness, and it goes there, but it's almost always tempered with hope somehow. I don't see

Word of warning, just like Sam, Sean doesn't show up until season 2. But season 1 is really good too!
