I do not know lots about classic movies, but here are some I love that you haven't mentioned. (Singing in the Rain is one of my all time top ten movie favorites)

Audrey Hepburn was in a comdey called How To Steal a Million, it's been a while since I've seen it, but HILARITY.

I'd say you can't go wrong with Gene Kelly musicals, and I'm fond of one he did with Judy Garland though I can't remember the name off the top of my head. Something about pirates. This also has a fun version of "Make 'Em Laugh" though no where near as good as Donald O'Conner's version.

Roman Holiday is really good and fun.

They're not funny, but I also like Vertigo and Strangers on a Train for Hitchcock.

And... suddenly I can't even remember the ones we were watching the other day. OH! right, Vertigo reminds me -- "Bell, Book and Candle", it's another Kim Novak/Jimmy Stewart combo but much more light hearted with a love spell going awry and a magic cat.

If you like Katherine Hepburn, one of her more famous comedies is "Bringing Up Baby". And "The African Queen" for a romance/adventure (the title is the name of their steamship, btw, and it's set during WWI).

I love 12 Angry Men (and while it's a courtroom drama, it's a really interesting look at persuasion and characters). Also Some Like It Hot (humor and shenanigans and Marilyn Monroe) ♥
