ME TOO!!!! And not only was I excited about the hockey game, goodness knows I also needed some happy after what I've been writing this past week. Hehe. ;)

I got told a few hours ago in a not to helpful way that I was sucky icon maker that didn't really deserve to call themself an iconmaker. I was stunned as I stared at the PM. I was down right pissed off after that. And then apparently felt I needed to use this place to prove to myself (since that person will never see these) that I can indeed use a texture, I can do coloring and I do know what curves are. These are not all my favorite icons, but I'm using them to prove to myself that I can do it...and to kinda see if any of them get votes. Because after all I've learned that iconning is not always just about the image, the crop, the text, the coloring...and so on, but that EVERY fandom seems to have their own personality and the majority of the fandom all likes similar things...so we'll see. We'll see if the icons in these 5 I did on my own harbor more or less votes than those what I stepped out of the box on and followed what this person said I couldn't do. (and yes, this rambleing vent was just for my own stress relief) I

For whatever it's worth (and goodness knows I'm not an icon-maker, so my comment is probably worth less than it would be if I were), I think that person could not be more wrong if they tried. You are amazing, and the number of times you've won awards at this community is an indication that other folks think so too! I really don't have a lot of respect for people who cannot criticize constructively, and who therefore resort to flaming and immature insults in an attempt to get their point across. Have they ever made an icon? If not, then they can't possibly understand the amount of work that must go into icons. If so, I wonder how they might feel if someone were to say something like that about their work. They probably wouldn't like it very much! I wonder too if their work is really all that special to begin with. Building oneself up by tearing others down, and all that crap

I know...and when I FINALLY got to see that persons icons yesterday I was like hmmm...I wouldn't save a damn one. So it made the comments a lot easier to take. I think it was, as you said, just really bad timing (along with be being slapped by the first real rude icon maker I've met).

HOWEVER...On the upside, it did force me out of the box a bit. I made iconns for a few communities that are texture heavy (as most of the comments came with textures, and blending). And...now I get to see how it's recieved. And I learned a bunch of new things in photoshop...so that's not bad.

And thanks hon. And, icon maker or not, people who actually see my icons week after week and who actually are in the fandoms i make them of - their (so your) comments mean a LOT more to me than a random icon maker.

The fourth one looks great to me! :D And considering the scene from which it comes, I believe it's possible to say pretty conclusively that she's happy. Hehe. ;)
