Idina Menzel going on fucking Glee and being wasted like that made me mad. Rachel is the spitting image of her with the same vocal power - I thought for sure she would appear as long lost mom or something. I love the show for all the reasons I should hate it: Unrealistic, campy, ridiculous, all the things that drive me nuts when my favourite dramas reduce themselves to this...It's just fresh air to me, I guess when it's a comedy,. But Idina being used this minimally when they got Kristin Chenoweth's guest character SO RIGHT bugged me. Maybe she will be back for more??
So I watched this ep of Doctor Who last night, too. I thought it was, well, kind of boring. But I'm not sure if that's Moffat's fault or the Dalek's fault. I mean, come on, Dalek eps are always the same! They come to Earth, try to trick the Doctor into helping them create more Daleks, the Doctor tries to destroy them, a few get away. How many times can a person watch the same episode before getting bored when Daleks are even mentioned? I've hit my limit.
I did, however, think bits and pieces of the ep were amusing. The old man standing on watch, Churchill and Eleven's tendency to refer to Amy as Pond.
On the whole, though... I'm not giving up on you, Moffat! Next week can be great, I know it!
Next week should be make or break. River Song and Weeping Angels. Both things are purely Moffat's. If this doesn't live up to the promise The Eleventh Hour, then I'm going to start getting worried.
