It's almost the end of 2009

My one and only "resolution" for 2010 is to finish "Winners & Losers." (That's the NOVEL that has gone from being NOVEL 2008, to being NOVEL 2009, and is now going into its third year of creation.) To that end, no fanfic writing and a considerable curtailment of my Super-Beta activities ( Read more... )

Happy New Year!

I hope your novel writing goes well for next year.

I'm having dinner with some friends tonight that should be good.

Nice! I'm hoping to have Ivan over on the 2nd for dinner and a full-blown Who-fest of Waters of Mars plus The End of Time Pts 1 & 2.

Oi, work til 6? Man... that's... duh, long.

And I hope everything'll work out for your novel!
My friend has been writing on hers for more than 7 years now; she's finished meanwhile and is now doing the clean-up (which I reckon will taker at least another year...).

As for today... I'm trying to make it to midnight (less than 4 hours noe) and then I'm going to stand with my parents on the balcony (or maybe indoors, depending on the weather and if I feel any better) and watch the rest of the world do fireworks.

It's about the focus. I got very upset this October when I lost my notebook that had a detailed outline in it and I've never really gotten my focus back, and there were too many fanfic temptations, because even when the comments don't come in as much as I'd like, there's still some instant gratification, where as Novel writing is being along in my head with my doubts and fears and no validation.

Yeah... I know that feeling. (Both losing a notebook - or in my case some data on a destroyed harddrive/USB-drive - and getting tempted by writing fanfiction.)
That's why I never finished any of my novel-writing attempts (of which there were quite a lot). I usually get sidetracked by something else, be it fanfic or just another idea that's suddenly stuck in my head. Plus the feedback is missing.
But I was actually planning to start writing again. Although I'm not sure how far I'll get or if I will start at all with it next to writing my thesis.

Duh... and typos FTW! WTH? ...it's probably the fever or something.

At least it's quiet. Mostly I'm worried about some nut-job coming out of the woodwork at 555PM with a request for a ticket to Ning Bo with a side trip to Zurich.

LOL! Does that happen regularly? :D

It's all about focus. I should basically be writing all the time, which I used to do pre-coming back into fandom, but now it's so easy to be distracted...LJ, Twitter, TV-Tropes etc etc. Damn you, Interwebs!

That's a helluva line-up for one week and you still have The End of Time Part 2.

That is the last time I watch Day of the Triffids, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Dr Who in one week.

That's an awesome line-up, though :)
