So perfectly in character, and as schmoop goes (to which I am mostly allergic) it was more thoughtful than mushy, I thought. I love that dynamic between Sam and Annie, the fact that he values her and treats her as a human being rather than a piece of skirt. And as for Gene getting jealous before getting his "present"? Yum!

You can't be anymore allergic to schmoop than I am, so I was quite shocked to have written this. I think the original plan was to make it a choice between what he thinks he should want and what it really wants, which is closer to my usual angsty dynamic, but it's nearly impossible to watch the scene between Sam/Annie at the end of the last episode and not believe that Sam really does want and care for her as well. Simm is just too good and actor to leave things completely slash-centric.

Besides, you know, it's Christmas. So what the hell.

Don't know how I missed this over at the Pervert's Corner bash as I thought I'd read all the posts. I'm so glad you cross posted to lifein1973 so I didn't miss it.

This is lovely Christmas/birthday stuff and while I'm usually all about the angst, this worked perfectly.

I was wondering for a bit if it was indeed Sam dreaming being on his knees (gawd I loved that) but you handled that very well. And hurray that Sam got his too! Hehe! That you did the canon Sam/Annie was great actually and loved that Annie came across as a strong character. I really enjoy your writing style. Very nice story!

Glad you liked. It's my first "real" Sam/Gene, and I was worried that it would just be a compendium of Sam/Gene smut cliches or that the Sam/Annie would be too schmoopy.
