Ah yes. Well, I had a specific request to write Jack in a smut situation where he really didn't want to be and to have him fight against enjoying it.

I don't know why I found So were the Borgias so amusing- No wait, yes I do - it was the thought of cod pieces (thank you the BBC for historical costume dramas).

It was unsettlingly soothing, almost maternal. Torchwood was a family, all right. Jack thought he was going to be sick.

Glad you liked the Borgias line. Sorry about the emotional roller-coaster, but I think Fragments shows us that Jack was a bit of a mess back in those
days. (Not that he isn't a mess now, but he's a better-kempt mess.)

I KNEW that Alice/Emily was rife for smut. I didn't know how wonderful the smut could be, though. Just fabulous work. Everyone's voices were spot-on. So much so that I could hear Captain John perfectly even without confirmation that's who it was. (wasn't it...? ;-D)

Jack definitely implied that living through the century was not all fun for him, and I think we saw that he had some heavy ambivalence about hooking up with Torchwood.

I am going to post one of his happier memories later to day. (Something delightful, delicious....)
