Not completely. The girl is trying to repair the friendship that got screwed up when there was a "near miss" sexual encounter on their last vacation. So while it's not inherent that mean and women can't be friends, it's still a problem once romantic love/sexual desire comes into the picture, which honestly, fair enough.
