It's not pretty, but hopefully I can learn something and find a way to make whatever changes are necessary.

The problem is that if there's just one or two people who have really got this particular view of me, it might be that NOTHING is going to make it better and anytime they are on the line and see me NOT making it faster for them, it's going to get worse.

For some people, tearing others down IS their joy (under the guise of "being helpful"). I find it's more usual for people to make complaints, which is why I like to go the other way and write letters of commendation for people who I think do a great job.

So here's mine:

I've know karaokegal for over five years and I have found her to be an honest and open person with strong introspective skills and an even stronger determination to improve herself whether or not she needs it.

We are lucky to have her here at LJ.

Awwww! Thanks sweetie! The next step is for me to NOT develop a resentment toward my "perfect" co-worker. It was actually easier to get over that hump with my challenging former co-worker, because (honesty is ugly) she made me look better. I feel like perfect co-worker diminishes me because he is perfect.

Things are pretty damn awesome. I KNOW I'm good at the job and my Team Leader is doing everything to keep me believing it...except we still have to talk about these survey comments and assume there is something there I can work on to stop people writing this stuff.

All I want for Christmas is you a confirmed ride to the Yoga/Meditation/Kirtan retreat in January at Hidden Villa in the Los Altos Hills.

*Hugs* Sadly there are plenty of customers who believe it's their place to put customer service people in their place. When I was at Boots I remember customers doing sleight-of-hand stuff to make it look like I'd given one less banknote in change than I actually did, then accuse me of stealing and tell the store manager I shouldn't be working there. I'm glad your manager is much more understanding than mine was (her advice was to tell me to count every coin & note out loud, then the next week she'd tell me not to do this because it was holding everyone up).

Arggghhh! On one hand, the card-members who like me are inclined to do so because I give them my time and attention, but the ones who are pissy are standing the line, not getting checked in while I do so. How much do I rush people through, just to make sure no one is waiting and developing a resentment. It's a no-win scenario of the highest order.
