You can misread my prompts until Doomsday if this is the kind of stuff you come up with. Also, is it really a misread? You just corrected my prompt, revealing what House's real addiction is (as opposed to drugs, alcohol and gambling). A there-I-fixed-your-prompt fic, and what a perfect one - vintage kgal H/W. Mem'd, for the longdark times to come.

PS For some reason I see a lot of implied sex without cuddling or love declarations in this fic.

Thanks sweetie. It was a great prompt even if I misconstrued and that song is another one that is just SO House. The tone was completely chilling.

One of my favorite thinks about "Classic" H/W is Wilson's relationship to House's addiction and his own-self hatred as a result of it. Why we couldn't have had THAT instead of smarmy gay jokes I'll never know. (And never forgive.)

I absolutely love this! I love the fact that in the Vicodin, and the gambling, he's still enabling House, perhaps, in a sense, ignoring the problem. I can see Wilson's anxiety in the line It's the alcohol that really scares him. I like the way House is pushing Wilson in forcing him to partake in the drinking, and that Wilson doesn't want to say no, out of fear of losing him.

The ending line is gorgeous. Entirely telling of their relationship. Love it. I wish I had posted something for those memes...

The memes are still open. I'm using these drabbles as my warm up for Come As You're Not. Just remember to clearly read the directions for #2.

I'm glad you liked this. One of the things that really got lost over the last 4 or 5 seasons was the genuine complexity of Wilson's relationship to House's addictions and what exactly was driving his enabling. It really got shoved under the carpet followed "Words and Deeds" and was blatantly ignored in the face of House OBVIOUS alcohol abuse when he was allegedly clean and sober. (Such a rage button for me, it's not even funny.)
