Clearly, this also explains why Mycroft bestirs himself enough to visit Baker Street occasionally :)

Mycroft is a master game theorist. He has multiple motivations and he always has a back-up plan.

It's amazing in all the right ways, which sounds odd considering we are talking about one of the world's most screwed up and screwed over relationships between brothers. Bravo.

Thanks for the prompt. I love writing Mycroft so much and especially the fucked-uppedness that is Mycroft/Sherlock. Glad you liked the result.

That was very believable, although I think any nanny bothered by a boy sleeping naked (so long as he's both too old and not old enough to wet the bed) has a serious problem. I also hope none of Mycroft's exploration happened at a time when Sherlock was young enough to need a nanny, because that would squee me.

You probably mean Squick rather than Squeee and for that reason I'll leave the exact age to your imagination. It's possible that Mr. and Mrs. Holmes left the balance of actual child care up to the servants until the boys were both off to Eton and such. Since we're in the world of stultifying upper classes here, I also tend to see Nanny as being NOT so Mary Poppins and quite unnerved by the boy's nudity on general principles.
