who had made it clear he could have her, but never possess her.
I really love this sentence. In fact, this fic makes me really really like Irene Adler - I'm impressed by the mutual respect between them, each incredibly professional in their job despite neither having a formal education for it :).

Nitpicking for you:
surreptiously surreptitiously?
dildo dildoes
no one even know knew/could know/whatever
now you can wank over her him lapsus
but that fact that :)
Thank, you, Irene I'm to sleepy to figure out whether it's a typo or whether it's a very deep pause between thank and you, pregnant with emotion and foreboding.

When in doubt, go with typo. This isn't a Pinter play. My pauses aren't that deep. Thanks again. Another very late posting with tired eyes.

I will say I am pretty chuffed with that particular line, so I'm glad it stood out to you.

Thank you so much. I wasn't sure my idea about Irene being involved would go over well.

I honestly don't know dick all about the show, except what fic I've read. What struck me as so in character was Sherlock needing to give up control for a while, needing the pain and surrender, needing some way to acknowledge feelings he never could in "reality". There are some things that are so Sherlock they cross the generations/media, and I think that characterization is one of those things. You really did that nicely.

I thought this was brilliant - I loved the parallels between Sherlock and Irene being every bit as good at her profession in her own way. Also the painful, painful S/J.

Thank you! You know me and how I tend to see these pairings, so the only way Sherlock would ever admit this is once it is far too late. I really loved the inspiration of putting Irene back in the mix, so I'm glad that works for you as well.

Thank you! I hope I didn't get too arch for BBC Sherlock (as opposed to ACD).
