I'm not really a shipper, either - I used to be a Gibbs/Kate shipper, and when they killed her off I felt so gut-punched that I decided it wasn't safe to ship ANYONE on that show.

But yeah, the whole Ray thing was mishandled...the fact he seemed to think he could get away with it and run off with Ziva just seemed stupid (not to mention, what's the likelihood his girlfriend is the one handling the case...I mean, is Gibbs' team the ONLY one in NCIS? Um, NO.).

I like the Tony/Ziva banter, but the UST is getting old. Either do it or don't do it, and let's move on.

I kind of hate it when the Procedurals get so far into the character's personal lives that any relationship becomes canon. I think it's been the ruination of the CSI and CSI-NY among others.

All the shows are afraid of Sam/Diane (or Moonlighting) syndrome, but there's a point where you just have fish or cut bait. (Bones let it go on WAY too long, and is another example where I realllyreally wish they'd stuck to the the mysteries without putting us through Angela/Hodgens etc etc.)

So not only was Ray character assassinated (taking Ziva down with him) he was also lobotomized in the process. The entire writing staff deserves a Gibbs slap. A HARD ONE!

*agrees* Perhaps we should ask Mark Harmon to deliver one to them? *wink*

I haven't seen most of this recent season, but from what I saw in earlier eps, I could tell that Ray was going to be A Very Bad Man. Because he had to be A Very Bad Man. The reason that Tony/Jeanne thing worked for me was that they broke up and it was awful for both of them but it was relatively realistically written. And nobody died. Except her father, of course.

I recently re-watched the airplane episode and was sort of weirded out by Tony talking about Jeane in a nearly casual fashion.
