Mission accomplished…almost.
The alien silverware had been scrubbed, soaked and rinsed back to its own universe. Spock was heading back to Star Fleet, but Jack couldn’t resist one more try. He believed in persistence. “I promise it’ll be worth your while,” he said, lowering his eyes seductively.
“But I do not think I can make it worth yours.”
“Because of Captain Kirk?”
“Yes.”
Jack couldn’t imagine anyone having that effect on him. Maybe if things were different with the Doctor. Maybe.
“Live long and prosper, Jack Harkness.”
“Thanks,” Jack said, only slightly sarcastically.
It wasn’t like he had much choice.
