OMG, what the HELL was that damned driver thinking? Better he should hit the tree than the riders! And he shouldn't have been pushing into that narrow bit with them anyway - he's supposed to be giving them room, no matter how "important" the news is.
Seriously, this whole stage was a HORROR SHOW! I can't believe that Hoogerland and Flecha managed to finish and are still in the race. At least they have the rest day to try and recover a bit. I mean ---- falling on a barbed wire fence? I throw a hairy conniption if I fall down and get a bit of road rash.
Geordie is a follower, and I'm watching along. I mean, I wasn't a follower before him and I still don't know much about it (and I certainly don't know anything about the different riders), but I'm learning fast and ... well, seriously, WTF journalist driver? The announcer said, "These are the last kilometers that journalist will drive on this stage." and I thought: No, these are the last kilometers that journalist will drive on ANY Tour and most likely he'll be a bench-seat-journalist for years.
Sheesh.
This whole year has been bad - one guy broke his collarbone, another his shoulder blade. Falling on barbed wire (at least he fell on his back; there's more armor there!) and the guys who went off the road on the downhill today...
I haven't read any reports on today's stage yet. I'll be amazed if they're both able to start and finish, but fingers crossed. However this Tour ends, I think a lot of questions are going to have to be asked.
There's always been a somewhat dark history to bike racing, especially TDF, but this year is definitely very strange. I still can't believe that whole "getting killed by a garage door" thing.

Still, it's crazy. Absolutely, fucking crazy. I'm sorry the car driver didn't get lynched beaten up by the mob.
