This was really beautiful. I love the idea of a musician, like an actor, having to summon his own emotions to do his work properly. [With me it's precisely the contrary - in order to work, my emotions have to vanish so that my inner eyes can focus on a universe of lifeless, eternal beauty.]

I'm just sad that the guilt and longing are for Stephen. Poor, forgotten Bobby.

I think that Hugh is probably a "method" singer, so I could see him having to dig for those emotions and equally not wanting to.

I realize it feels odd to go back to Hugh/Stephen when you've been immersed in my Hugh/Bobby verse, but let's face it Hugh and Stephen go back further and they will always have that special bond.

You're of course right. I know you (and, in your story, HL and RSL) have moved on. Anyway, I loved the drabble. I'm just completely and totally obsessed.

I love this! It's funny you chose the Blues theme, because since I've known that Hugh's gonna release that album of his I was wondering if one of the songs had some meaning for him regarding Stephen.

Nice read. It's been awhile since a Stephen-Hugh story has appeared. I like that you brought the Blues album into it. Thanks. :)

Thanks! I'm sorry to hear there hasn't been much fic lately. I'm doing a year of drabbles, so feel free to drop some prompts.
