Saturday:

Bug bombing the bed-room to try and eradicate whatever's been nibbling on my ankles, so we went out to brunch at Maverick, another restaurant that sort of fell off our standard list for various reasons, including general pretentiousness about asking what KIND of water we wanted. Also some of the meals had be less than stellar

oh, lord, I automatically DON'T want to see that movie because of Julia Roberts.

Of all the major actresses who could have been cast, it's hard to think of one who completely subverts any value the book actually had by her very presence. I don't hate her the way I did during her first hey-dey in the early 90's, but she's just completely and utterly wrong for this role. Because, she's one of those stars who's completely not able to be lost in a role, so every minute she's on screen it's all about Julia Roberts being a star, NOT about Liz and her spiritual quest.
