update and anti-update

the good part: I fixed the alt text images on the Art of THe Empty World page. I also made an update that changed the disclaimer text on every page to read 'Karan Seraph's The Empty World' instead of 'Empty World' to avoid confusion with the John Christopher work ( Read more... )

As someone who maintains a couple websites, I can feel your pain over that. It sucks. I'm sorry you'll have to re-do some of the work.

I managed to fix it somewhat last night. I went to the site management pages my provider has and experimented until I found if I rolled back certain pages to August 3rd, they had the correct menu. So then I used Dreamweaver to get those particular pages for my local site. then I re-did the disclaimer find and replace to correct that portion of the rolled back pages. Then I put all that section to the server again.

I *might* have missed some, but I got the main pages fixed (ones at the top of a section or subsection). Otherwise, I was going to have to do work on many pages as part of the ongoing updating, anyway, and probably hadn't fixed the menus on those one yet from here or work. I'm glad I managed to fix the main ones.
