Oh honey I heard about the Columbia freshman thing secondhand, but it really is as bad as they say! On the bright side it will get (slightly) better once the INSANE is over, I mean really I almost feel bad for trying to scare you about college way back when-- but CALM DOWN K CALM DOWN AND EAT A FALAFEL

I AM OKAY IT IS IS JUST A LOT OF READING WHICH IS REALLY SORT OF FUN BUT REALLY DOES CONSUME YOUR LIFE WHEN YOUR LITERATURE READING AVERAGES 100 PAGES A NIGHT, YOUR CLASS READINGS EACH AVERAGE 100 PAGES PER CLASS AND THERE'S HOMEWORK AND STUFF. ALL GOES WELL AS LONG AS YOU ASSUME YOU DO NOTHING ELSE EXCEPT MAYBE GO OUT ONCE OR TWICE DURING WEEKENDS. And here I am, a lowly person who has been away from academics for 9 months.

But WITH HOPE I WILL COME OUT OF IT A MORE KICKASS WRITER because all these thoughts and new cities and, well, just reading a lot is forcing ideas to percolate in my head like untasted but nonetheless superevilpotent coffee, which will hopefully be unleashed upon the flist that I miss so much. D: D: D: D: D: D: D: I MISS CONVERSATIONS ON LJ, I MISS COMMENT SPAMS, I MISS READING MY FLIST, I MISS HOW I ONCE DID NOT NEED TO TYPE RIDICULOUSLY LONG COMMENTS LIKE THIS JUST TO FEEL HUMAN.

LOLOLOLOL IT IS EXACTLY LIKE I HEARD, THAT IS SORT OF FASCINATING

And whereas it is refreshing to see someone actually affected by the college experience, let alone to this degree, K CALM THE FUCK DOWN YOU WILL ONLY LOOK AT THIS COMMENT LIKE A YEAR FROM NOW AND LAUGH IN EMBARRASSMENT your flist misses you but they don't want you hyperventilating!

I AM PRETTY CALM!! I'm not panicking or freaked out or worried; I'm just going to go with the flow. But it's weird to realise I'm not updating everyday any more, or just commenting hard any more, or in touch with you guys any more. D: You're all important to me! And fic is a huge part of my mental voice about the stuff that swirls around in my head that it just feels weird not to have it leaking out and onto words and non-academic stuff on a constant basis. GIVE ME BACK MY HOMELANDDD.

What have you heard that it's like? D: I'll say this: my new printer's new ink cartridge is already running out of ink? IS THIS ACTUALLY NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THE CASE???

Every time you post, now, my brain goes into this mother hen mode where I feel like I should knit you socks and make you phone me once a week so I can quiz you about whether you're taking your vitamins and making friends and keeping up with your homework. IDEK.

I'm being pretty put together in real life, but when it comes to LJ I always end up posting during my last few moments of awake-time, with the last reserves of my energy, wishing that I had more time/space to just WRITE THE FIC IDEAS THAT KEEP FLAILING THEMSELVES TO DEATH and keeping alive the habit that has been such a big and great part of making me happy the last two years. ♥ I MISS YOU GUYSSSS.

I will be in the city a week from Monday, if you can snatch away a little time for lunch or tea. :)? If not I will understand. Columbia is Columbia is Columbia and we can try when you are settled in more.

AHAHAHAH AW xD I REMEMBER THIS PART, YIS.

(the science folks actually have to do their readings (or at least their homework) most of the time, unlike many many humanities folks asd;lghf /o\)
