Have no real recs for anime since you would have seen them anyway, or they're cyberpunk, which I think you said you're not a fan of?
I love Samurai Champloo! It's no surprise that Jin and Mugen push the right buttons for me, but with Fuu thrown into the mix SC has given me my first OT3. This is unexpected, since I'm not really partial to Fuu by herself. Need to try Cowboy Bebop.

I don't mind cyberpunk anime - it's cyberpunk books that give me a bit of a headache. Terminology and reality are a lot easier to accept visually. 8D Plus I am a huge GitS fan, so... :D
