Unexpected days

Yesterday, around 11:30, my boss leans in to the programmer's office and says "Hey James, are you planning on going to lunch today?"

I take a moment to process this. It has been a while since I've brought lunch to the office, and me bringing my lunch to the office is rare in and of itself. "Eventually..." I reply cautiously.
