On my 4-shelf bookcase, the top two shelves are full of books I own but haven't read (or finished reading) yet. That doesn't include the stack of 5 books started but unfinished near my bed, and the bag of 9-10 books loaned to me by a friend.

I've lost the discipline to sit and read leisurely on a regular basis. I want to get back into it, though... :-/

I've stopped watching TV, for the most part. I tried it as an experiment one week. I used to come home, plop down on the couch and turn on the TV and sort of zone out until bed time.

Last week I didn't turn it on at all, and found I was able to write more, found I had time to transcribe things that were hand written, etc.

I'm not sure it applies to your situation ...

Oh, that does apply to my situation. :) Since the writer's strike, I have been watching more of my rented movies/TV shows. I'm really into Alias right now. I like watching shows with a bit of mystery to them -- I like to try to figure out the plot before it unravels. I'm starting to get pretty good at it. I'll have to try to incorporate it into my routine.

Of course, I have been socializing quite a bit after work lately and on the weekends, which defeats the purpose of reading, too. :)

I think that's one of the most awesome things anybody's ever said about something I gave them. Possibly THE most awesome. I feel so proud!

If you were online when I wrote it, you would have been thanked and glomped and hugged. :)

Thank you. :) *hugs*
