New Meme?

Since I seem to be doing the things mentioned in this phone post (friends locked), I might as well do the third of the three things mentioned.

I had an idea for a new meme. I don't remember having seen it before, anyway ... partially (okay, 80%) inspired by High FidelityI'm not sure how I want it to work though ... I suppose it could be one of ( Read more... )

Hmmm....I don't usually consider my relationships ending as "breakups," although my divorce will certainly count as one.

So, here are my breakups and their theme songs:

1 - Leaving my husband. Song - "That Particular Time" by Alanis Morissette

2 - Jake. The first man I ever kissed. He asked me to marry him, and I completely freaked out. "Do what you have to do," by Sarah McLachlan

3 - Rob, the first guy I dated after leaving my ex-husband. "I've got to see you again," by Norah Jones

4 - Chris. Wasn't really a breakup. "Shadowboxer" by Fionna Apple

5 - Canaan (wasn't really a breakup; we weren't ever really dating, but I loved him so much and it broke my heart when he didn't feel the same) "That I would be good," by Alanis Morissette

Crazy, eh?

When I'm feeling sorry for myself about a relationship, I LOVE singing to Fionna Apple in the shower. There's no one as crazy and artisitically depressing about love and relationships. Feels good to wallow sometimes.

Although I'm far too lazy to look for it, I'm sure if you go through lumley's posts you'll find the post wherein we discussed breakup songs.

I think the idea of breakups having a theme song is most interesting.

Of course, I think anything having a theme song (except for things like TV shows, which are supposed to, so that's boring) is interesting.
