Well, start of the new month, and I do believe I have failed my memes. Ah well. Blame it on school and life. I'll get back to them as soon as I have motivation.

Anyways, I can at least talk about anime today.

When was the last time you saw a ten year-old in anime? )

...Hunh.

I haven't seen nearly enough anime to even start on this question, but you've made me think.

And for what it's worth, I saw some pretty genuine kids in the Stargate: Atlantis episode we watched last night - but that's a wholly different genre. They got their faces all covered in chocolate and everything!

Thinking is generally good. I might be wrong in my assumptions, so call me on anything you don't agree with!

It's probably a bit different when you have child actors. You can't really stop a kid from being a kid, even on screen. XD

I don't think actual children exist in anime, except as bit characters to prove the main character actually has a family. Otherwise, they're plot points, main characters themselves who don't act their age, or nonexistent.

I was almost going to suggest Dan from the original Vampire Hunter D, but then again, he can handle a rifle with ease and he's ten years old.

I know. Its weird! I wonder why its that way?

Yeah, the only kids I could think of were from either shows targeted at children, or really strange things.

I have no idea; but it's probably for the same reasons that the ages between 14-19 are targeted for main characters. Or how kids in junior high are all sexually experienced.

I almost thought of Ash from Pokémon too, but he's an animal wrangler, lol.

Ergh. I would rather junior high kids not be sexually experienced. *shudder*

My boyfriend kept on giving me examples from Gainax shows. But they don't really count. =.=

I want to say Nagi from Hayate, but I have to not count her credit card as a superpower.

But her credit card is an amazing super power. As is her privileged attitude. XD

You need to watch Wakfu already.

I mean, yes, it's French, they do kid heroes who actually do act their age fairly well as far as I've seen... but, well, maybe the hero isn't a Real kid, but he comes closer than most.
