NCIS Thoughts

Jun 14, 2010 17:42

I've finally gotten around to watching the second half of season 7 for NCIS. I had stopped watching week by week because I was getting a little bored with the show and frustrated by the direction it was taking. But I have to say the break did some good and it made me realise how much I missed the show and that I do still love NCIS, just not as much ( Read more... )

Sometimes a break is exactly what you need to realise how much you love something. I spent three years with a major obsession for the show and I guess it's only natural that it cooled, but I'm glad I've found some of it back. But yay for both of us rediscovering the NCIS love! :)

*nods in agreement*

I see I'm not the only one who found the Hart/Bell/Mexico thing underwhelming. I expected so much more from the finale, given that we've been left with some absolutely shocking cliffhangers the past few seasons... I expected that again. And while its bad that Jackson is involved, I do think that if something serious were to happen to him, it would have happened in the finale and we would be left with the OMG cliffhanger like when Ari killed Kate.

I'm glad that Tony acknowledged all the female agents who have died. And I love how they give the throwbacks to earlier seasons/episodes.

I am definitely wanting lots more Tony/Abby scenes/hugs.

I was more emotional about that last scene in Obsession than anything in the final. That's a good point about something would have already happened to Jackson. I hope you are right. My first thought was that there isn't anyway to save him but I've since realised that we don't know when that scene occurs timewise and so it could be entirely possible for Gibbs to pop up from somewhere and save the day.

There is something about it that keeps us coming back. Even when it's bad, it's still better than a lot of shows.

I'm trying to watch a lot of the movies that he has quoted, and I'm starting to develope an interest in old films because of him.

Unfortunately that seems to be a common thought. But at least we can still find something to love about it. :)

i have to say that this makes me hopeful - i have only watched a few season 7 episodes so far & i'm kinda mad at myself for not wanting to see it more desperately :/ i'll probably just have to start again, and then (hoepfully) i'll get back to loving it too.
& you talking about tony and gibbs (♥) does make me miss the boys a bit, hee. but even though i haven't seen most of s7 i absolutely agree about the lack of tony/abby in EVERY SINGLE SEASON. in my mind they're totally bffs, but it's sometimes hard to say it, because here's not a lot of evidence anymore... *snif*

It's not the old wonderful NCIS but it's still got enough of those moments to make it ok. Just don't try and analyse the plots too deeply :)

The one really good thing about season 7 is Tony and Gibbs and how open and mature their relationship has become (whichever way you interprete it).

I really miss Tony/Abby scenes but there was a nice one, can't remember which ep sorry, that shows how well Tony knows Abby which was really nice to see.
