NCIS Fandom, Tiva and My Thoughts.

Season 7 of NCIS is will start next month. After the horribleness that was season 6 (excluding a certain couple of episodes) it is with a certain nervousness that I wait for the season opener. Will the issues of season 6 be resolved or will it continue to go downhill? Considering that Shane Brennan’s comments appear to show that he doesn’t realise ( Read more... )

*applauds* well written. I've also noticed a lot of tension on communities and haven't really written anything there because some people take the fandom way too seriously and I don't want to get my head bitten off. I generally like Tiva, but I've read some fics where they've been paired with other characters and really enjoyed them. I don't really care what other people ship or don't ship. Each to their own. It irritates me when they get aggressive about it ( ... )

Thanks. It is something that has been annoying me for a while but I think it has gotten worse recently. You hear about other fandoms like House that are destroyed because of shipping wars and I don't want that to happen with NCIS.

Yes, exactly. It's so frustrating and depressing.

I hope so but as NCIS gets more popular I think that it is only going to get worse. :(

It is an excellent post and I agree with your comment. (I wasn't going to reply to this post at all, yet, because my own emotions are running high, but I couldn't let your comment go unremarked.) Feeling like someone with a cheating spouse you still love is *exactly* what this feels like (to a far lesser degree, of course). I don't want to leave until I know he's simply not going to stop. I have too much time, effort and emotion invested in "him".

Yeah, "his" "mother" never did like "me" anyway. :-)

I completely agree. That's frustrated me in the first 2 seasons.I noticed that confrontation in the last 2 seasons too.Truth to be told( I just have to say that, and i hope you know I don't mean any harm),at the beginning of my obsession with NCIS I was frustrated, because some shippers looked down on those who doesn't ship cannon pairings-Kate/Ari,Abby/Tony-they didn't had so many adherents and therefore the people, who shipped them were...strange for the other shipper. The same is now with McGee/Ziva-I had a friend, whi likes them very much ,but can't voice her opinion, because she don't want to start a dispute which ship is more convincing. The funny thing is that ANY ship is possible on NCIS,because this show is a paradise for ships. We can pair any character with any other character, and it still be a convincing ship. How much convinsing is other question, but there are hints for every possible imagine couple on the show-which one is viewer's OTP is his/hers decision ( ... )

I ship Tony/Abby and don't have any trouble with people because of it. And I'm still friends with you even though I dislike the idea of Gibbs/Ziva, Gibbs/Kate and you are still friends with me even with me shipping Tony/Kate, Tony/Ziva, Tony/Abby... :)

Yes, NCIS is great for shipping all different pairings. Like I mentioned above I don't just have one ship because on the show there is so much to support each different pairing.

Totally agree with you.

Great minds think alike.:)This show made me see that the differences can be quite inetresting-to see the other's POV is like I was blind and someone allow me to see the world for the first time. It's exciting.:)

Shoot, I'm a staunch OTPer, but even *I* can see lots of the other ships in this show, they just don't interest me enough to want to read or write them. NCIS is pairing *gold*. :-)
