After a chaotic week, I was looking forward to this weekend. Saturday I was in the Pride parade and yesterday I went to the Pride festival with Andrea. She went home after walking around it, and I then spent a few hours wandering around with dpva, her girlfriend, and avonk. The four of us then found Pride was the usual: the typical vendors, running into

Put something on the list to the effect of "hey, we all know this just happened. Suicide is something to be taken seriously. If you have thoughts call a suicide hotline at ####. Thank you to those that rallied round the flag, it shows what a supportive and familial group this is. Lets keep up the support and good wishes."

As a moderator, or leader, you need to acknowledge what happened and set the tone for how it will be discussed. Otherwise people will whisper and talk outside the list and feel unable to talk about it on list. Plus it helps foster community.

Another one of the moderators posted a thanks to the members
and Andrea posted the hotline numbers ... so I do not want
to just say 'what they said'. On the other hand, the list has been
pretty quiet today after almost everyone being on it last night
so I do not want this to be something that people go 'okay,
problem solved, we can forget about the issue now' about.
