Just don't slam on the brakes when you start sliding! I've had a couple stories, but I came out unharmed so it's all good. Plus I don't want to spook you out anymore than you already are. :-)

Yes, so they say; just slow and careful wins the day, don't brake or turn wheels. It's just, how can you not do all these things in the event of a spin!? It's like we're all driving around in bumper cars! We do have four-wheel drive, so that's good.

Next year I'm stocking up food and staples much better than I did for this winter, too. I didn't realize that it really never went away and that even on no-snow days it all stayed. Waiting for me to try driving on it *n(nervous)g*

In a couple of years it'll all be second nature- I learned to drive in a northeast winter and still have a policy of staying off snowy roads unless I absolutely have to be on them. You get the hang of it after a bit. :)

I have the opposite experience- it's still very weird to me that our snow disappears so fast most people don't bother shoveling!

Now, that's a snow I could really learn to love :)

Our vehicles look like snow monsters out in the driveway. Just saying.
