I'll have to think about this for a while. Now that you've put the idea there it's going to hop around till it dies or multiplies.

LMBO Of course they would! And sadly enough, they wouldn't have to pay you for it. :(

They owe me big time LOL kara_el April 17 2008, 02:31:21 UTC
Oh I KNOW -- no copyright on IDEAS after all. I'm just lucky they let me wear the outfit at all.
Burns my behind that they sat around the offices at DC talking about me in my little suit, but now won't read a submission from me.
Ah, well...

How much can a comic character look like a person, anyway? LOL
I improved my skit for the comic competition, and came up with Clara Kent of the top of my head -- 2 seconds later, I realized I'd named her after a cow.
I guess the DC guys didn't care and ran with it.Did yo check out the comic scans at the link? Good ol'Curt Swan -- one of my fav Superman artists drew it.

I really love your costume, and that photo. It's like you posed for that comic or something! *hehe* Thanks for the link; it's really fascinating!:D:D

My Suit kara_el April 18 2008, 00:12:20 UTC
The costume -- a blue leotard and tights -- boy, I searched and searched for the right colour! The boots -- a zip-up pair of authentic vinyl go-go boots I found at the Sally Ann -- probably from 1970. I adapted them to make the v cut in the front. The crest I copied from a t-shirt and machine-appliqueed it on the leotard -- not easy that material is stretchy. the cape is a simple rectangle of red polyester, with a red chiffon lining, and has straps that reach under the armpits and attach to velcro inside the front part of the leotard. I figured this out all by my ittybitty self, and it turns out it was almost identical to what they did for Chris Reeve's cape. I put two pockets in the cape -- one for hilariously big glasses and one for my compressed daywear (barbie clothes). Got a lot of laughs with those details.
Fun times.
