I think all that's important to them is that it's a place, in America, where an outnumbered group of white people took a stand against overwhelming odds.
The slaves were freed at Gettysburg. Then Lincoln led the Confederate charge at Antietam, but the new units joined the Apaches and went to California for the gold rush and that's why we sing "Buffalo Soldier" before baseball games, so amber waves of grain gay bar Alpha Centauri.

that is fucked up. As a spiritual Texan- whose mother was a Texan from a long line of Real Texans all the way back to the above-mentioned event- I think thats fucked up.
There is a lot I don't like about Texas. There is a lot that is awesome about Texas. Frankly, the (racially mixed, there were a number of non-whites that fell inside the walls, erich schneider guy) defenders of that tiny doomed fort is one of the things worth admiring, and it's fucked up to watch some blowhard try and co-opt it.

There is a lot I don't like about Texas. There is a lot that is awesome about Texas.
