I thought you wrote Mercedes' thoughts really well, she is happy that her friend's happy, but the feeling of a greater distance between them when it was two of them together all the time for so long has to give rise to some complicated feelings. It felt realistic from both sides because she can't help but feel left out that Kurt found someone, and Kurt can't help but feel left out because she's going to NY and he isn't. Nice work :)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad Mercedes worked here. It is tough to be in a situation like hers, and though obviously the focus here is on her conflict, Kurt's in a tough situation, too. Being friends isn't always easy, but I really wanted to write something where they both could feel that strain and also accept it and start working through it.

I love this! Mercedes/Kurt BFFness was horribly shunned in the second half of this season and I am a HUGE Hummelberry fan but I missed this friendship dearly. I loved this moment that you captured between these two friends and the mixed happy/sorry for self feelings on Mercedes' end because they felt so true.

Thanks! I love Kurt-Mercedes friendship so much, and while writing them kicking butt and taking names would be fun, too, I really needed to write some sort of explanation for the lack of this relationship in the back half of the season. I'm glad the strain on their relationship rang true--it's a tough situation, but I wanted to end it with hope that they'd make it through.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I suspect that the Kurt-Mercedes lack could just be a function of no time for them with all of Kurt's other relationships coming to the fore--and in a way, I kind of hope that's what's going on. I love Kurt-Mercedes, and I hope that no matter what is going on, they're going to come back strong. (Okay, and Kurt/Blaine, Mercedes/Sam double-dates would be really cute, too. ;) )
