My iPod's battery died last week.
Of course, its extended warranty expired shortly beforehand.

Now it's more of a USB hard drive than mp3/video player.

You can get a new battery, right? Or a new iPod? Or you can put it on your birthday list?

The procedure to replace it is fairly straight forward and a new battery is only $25-30, so that would seem to be the answer.
While I have it apart, I think I'll give it a new paint job, too.
It struck me as fairly ironic that The Onion would run a bit on dead iPods so close to the demise/incapacitation of mine.
