And, wracking my brain for something worthwhile, I finally came up with a puzzle idea I could do "in a couple of hours". Almost exactly 12 hours later, I present to you: Ice-9!
Any thoughts on what would make it smoother for you? I'm at the point where it's incredibly intuitive, after playing it for a few hours ;) Or is it just not responsive enough?
I think it's a fundamental thing with me and "rotate four squares clockwise about this point". I was consistently confused by what the squares did when I clicked, and it seemed to take an enormous number of clicks to move a tile any distance.
I'd find a bejeweled-style "swap these two tiles" mechanic much more playable.
I concur about the mechanics. However, I'd vote for a click on the block to move, and arrow to the direction you want to move it, maybe?
Or click source, click target?
But yes, the rotating does not deliver the expected results.
Also, I feel kind of stupid. I can't figure out how this is supposed to play. I line up blocks, and they don't disappear. It's only specific blocks? Arg. I'll keep playing.
