I never read the novel (since I haven't found it in the bookstore) but I'm interested to watch the movie. After you post this I guess I'll download the movie today O_O

Oh! If you watch it come back and discuss it with me! I heard there are some changes between the novel and movie. It interests me too, but I saw some pictures and I'm afraid of gore, so the movie's out for me.

I have watched the movie, it's not really a gruesome and gore as I think. Although the concept is really sadist. The ending is kinda cliffhanger but then there's a second movie with the same main character.
When me and my friends watched the movie we can't stop cheering for the main character, Shuya and his friend, Noriko.
I haven't read the novel nor the manga so I don't know the different between the movie, the novel and the manga versions.

We should have had this conversation a year ago XD I was so obsessed with Battle Royale I wrote a fic based on it! And I actually remembered each death. Now I couldn't but... XD

I'm going through the book now, but I've read the manga and watched the movie. The movie is the least gruesome out of everyone's. As for my favorite character, it has to be either the genius or the guy looking for the girl he loved. Or the pretty, athletic girl. Oh or that otaku who was soooo kind-hearted and was the only guy the slut accepted.

Wow, so the movie isn't so gruesome huh? I'm surprised! The book was... brain splattered. Head split like peanut. Guts like trash. Stuff like that. LOL. So I guess when it comes to Battle Royale, the imagination is worse. But I didn't know there was a manga! It'd be an interesting read! I'd love to see what they look like, for example. Or not have their actions (like the last gun fight) explained out and to just see it. Yea, manga is way better.

Hey! They're my favorite characters too! That pretty, track girl. The guy with the martial arts (looking for the girl he loved) and the genius! The death of track girl was too much for me! Although I knew it was coming. The genius too! Except that, there are about 3 geniuses in this story so I'm unsure which one you're referring to. I kind of found the otaku annoying, lol. Just because the slut was able to trick him so easily D< but I guess kindness should be a good thing.

The Journal. I wrote it in just 2 weeks or something right after i finished reading the manga ^__^

The manga was incredible! Everyone looked like they were in their 20s all muscular and clever and stuff XD It was very graphic actually!

Oh i meant the guy who hacked into the system... basketball dude. I forgot their names -___- you know, that girl who played the shogun in nino's movie played the slut. XD She was incredible there, too XD

I regret not buying it right away when I saw the English translation in a local bookstore >__< I had been trying to ask a friend to get the Japanese version for me, but to no avail since everytime he'd check, they ran out of it. At the time I saw the translated version in the local bookstore, I had no money... T___T When I came back for it when I had cash, it was nowhere in sight :'(

Ah! I know what you mean! I saw Battle Royale in the store almost a year ago and I didn't buy it then. I didn't remember the title and fretted about it and couldn't find it, but then miraculously stumbled on Battle Royale this winter. You'll get your hands on it one day ;D And please do return to discuss it.
