SO MUCH LOVE for this story. Mercy making kissy faces! Connor being traumatized for life! Clark's very inexpert seduction! Oh, this story makes me so happy.

My favorite scene in this part, though, has to be Connor pinning Lex down on his ethics. I really liked hearing Lex's POV on this, but I also loved that Connor wouldn't let him get away with it.

*snerk* Mercy cracks me up so very much. And poor Conner is going to need therapy for life, with Clark and Lex for parents. :P

Oh, yes. Conner loves Lex and totally gets that Lex doesn't really see himself as that bad, but Conner knows better and isn't going to let Lex get away with anything. He's a good mediator for Lex's eviller impulses that way. *loves him*

Hee.

Okay...
No wait...
Hee.
But seriously, I love how he opened up to Conner and Conner's reaction. I love the quiet moments.
And of course Clark coming to his senses.

I was going to wait till I read the whole story for posting, but this part was just too much fun. My favorite line was:

"Oh, please, Lex, can I crawl naked into your bed with my godlike physique? Like that wasn’t the most rhetorical question in the universe. Lex just managed to nod numbly."

I very nearly laughed out loud when I read that... which would have been bad since I'm at work. *grins*

Hee! That's one of my favorite lines as well. I mean, honestly, Clark! Like Lex would say no? :P

Glad you're enjoying!

I'm dying here. I am so very happy that you are writing Smallville, and that it's the BEST STOPY EVER.

*rushes off to read the next part*

I was wondering if you were planning on mentioning in your summary that some points of your story ie. Martha's death, are taken, verbatim from Buffy canon? Specifically Buffy 5.16 "The Body".

I don't think there is any problem with telling readers you are doing a Clex version of a Buffy plot -- like a Clex Gone with the Wind or something, but to pass it off as your own is not on.

OK, your comment kind of cracked me up initially. I mean, at first I had no clue what you were referring to. The last time I watched 'The Body' was over five years ago. I was all, "What? She's saying that no one else can kill a mother without having to cite every other time a show did that?"

Then, I asked one of my friends who remembers that episode, and she said that you thought that it was because Conner found the body and tried to resuscitate. Apparently, Buffy did the same? I don't remember. But what makes it really funny is that I did steal that whole segment! In fact, I stole it from when my grandmother died, and my cousin found her body, called the paramedics, had to perform CPR on the corpse, and broke one of her ribs.

If it's similar in any way, it's because that show researched emergency procedures and that's what 911 tells you to do when you find a body.

Maybe next time it might be wise not to leap to conclusions about these things and, if you really feel the need to do so, to do it in private?

First off, I am not 'leaping to connclusions', just stating the fact that your scene, and some exact dialogue in it, are from Buffy 5.16. NO ONE, has to take my word for it, or wonder if I am talking out of my ass. All they have to do is watch that episode and decide for themselves. No matter how you decide to explain the similarities, they are still there.

Second, as your story post is public, I didn't see the need to make it a private issue.

All right. Point out exactly which dialogue in my fic you think is the same, and I'll gladly report myself to stop_plagiarism, if you like. I take all accusations of plagiarism very seriously, given that I've been plagiarized myself on multiple occasions, and will gladly do this to clear the matter up.

It might be good to consider, however, that grief is a pretty universal human emotion and expressions of grief, in the long run, don't vary too much. There are bound to be similarities in any two versions of a grief story, simply because everyone who's gone through the loss of a loved one is going to have gone through the same thing.

Second, as your story post is public, I didn't see the need to make it a private issue.

The reason to post privately is because there's always a chance you might be wrong, and it's just polite. If you don't care, then there's certainly no reason you have to. I just wasn't sure whether you were familiar with the 'netiquette' in these situations.
