i have 3 children and we lost our cats last year to a good friend due to loosing our home, and since the kitties have been at their house for a year are now theirs. we rasied them from babies and it was a hard loss. would this cat be ok around children? we've been looking for a good indoor kittie to help consol the loss of our other 2.

I am unsure how the cat reacts around small/aggressive children, but doesn't seem to have any issues with people who are gentle.

It does get very upset around other cats, however- and will do what it can to get away (even if being held) from any unfamiliar cat..it's taken 2 years to get used to other neighborhood cats, but still hisses.

Currently the cat has lost some weight and is a bit fragile, so it would be best if it were around gentle people.

Does that help?

If you've had her indoors at all, does she need to sleep with you or is she OK sleeping by herself? And does she like being held?

we've not had her inside at all-

the cat has slept outside, unsupervised, as well as inside our garage on a special kitty bed-which we would also give away with her.

we believe she originally was an inside cat as she always wants in no matter what weather or season...

she is definitely litter box trained, that much is for sure.

She does like being held, mostly gently--
she sheds, especially when petted, but loves to be brushed.

However, when she wants down- she wants down. she doesn't get mean about it, but there's no point in trying to hold her back- she will find a way down.

hope that helps, sorry i don't have more complete answers.
