stylist recommendation

I have extremely curly hair. Like corkscrew curls. Which is why I've always kept my hair long, so it wouldn't frizz up and make me look like bozo the clown. Well I'm starting to get annoyed at how much work it requires to take care of my hair and I'd like to get a shorter cut. I tried this once before in high school where the stylist though it ( Read more... )

What's your first name so I know who to ask for? :) Do you do consultations first?

My name is Soraya.. We do an in depth consultation where we actually sit down with you and ask you a series of questions so that we're on the same page.We do that to find out what your challenges are and to find solutions for them. My goal is for you to have hair that is easy to style and be everything that you want in a hair cut. After your first visit we would recap the previous consultation to see what worked for you/what you loved and in case something didn't work out we'll know what to steer away from. I look forward to hearing from you. I could also show you pictures of my fiancee's sister's hair. I hope to hear from you! =)

Actually I'd love to see pictures! You can email them to me if you want. redaryl at lj :D

I'll probably have to wait until my next paycheck to come in. Can I ask how much the consultation runs, or is it free if you get the cut/style done there?

amber at the darling room.

the girl that does my hair also works in that shop (becki) but i am not sure how well she does with curly hair.

another pick would be jenny at bijin. 913.671.7777

curly hair is more expensive but both these ladies will do a really great job with it.

And to clarify...she is very precise and will explain to you what she needs to do to make the curls behave and how to maintain it and oh, she's just fantastic. She literally saved my hair (and I have the curlies like you.)

If this isn't too weird, can I see a picture of what your hair looks like? Truthfully I love the idea of having short hair that won't take as long to take care of but I'm so afraid it won't look right. :/ If you're ok with it, you can email it to me. If not, no worries. I know it's a weird request. ;)

I have no help, seeing as I have naturally very curly hair, and I'm afraid to go anywhere to get my hair cut, so I've kept my hair long my entire life. But thanks for asking the question. It's good to know this info! :D

You're welcome. :) After I visit someone I'll let you know how it went, if you'd like.
