I figure an update is called for. So, let's see. Um, I've been writing. That's good. I've been critiquing...a lot. I have this crazy idea that I won't give in to my procrastinating ways and will be done with all the TNEO critiques before the first day. Things have been slow at the day job, so I've been bringing stories with me to critique. I'm ( Read more... )

If you want a pair of eyes for your "needs to be longer" story, I volunteer mine...

Dude send the tornado/dust devil here. We need some excitement in Boston

Thanks, lady, but I think I'll let it skulk in the corner until I have more time post-TNEO.

Looking for excitement in Boston? Ride a bike through the streets. That should be enough to give you a near heart attack.

Thank you, thank you! I may tackle the story one day, but alas, not soon. Meanwhile, I will let it percolate in the leaf mold.

I talked a friend into taking the acting class with me. She said, "You can't laugh at me!"

I said, "You can't laugh at me either! Unless I'm doing comedy."

It is *so* hard to pull a story from circulation. I think the fact that you did it shows great business acumen!!

You don't want to waste your product by sending it out before it's ready when so few markets are willing to reconsider something they've already seen. You know?

Anyway, that's my take on it.

There are a limited number of markets, and yes indeed, I don't want to use them all up and then have nowhere to send my little orphaned story.

You're almost done your critiques! Woot! I am considerably farther behind. :)

Good luck with the pulled story.

Love the image of the kid sucked up into the dust devil.

*patting you on the back* There, there. I'm sure I'll get over this in the next round and spend frantic time on the flight to NH critiquing stories.
