Who: Mitarashi Anko Status: Active, open (plz? :D). Style: Third person present tense Where/When: Himorogi, going to Konoha Warnings: PG for Anko's potty mouth. :|
A morning of training done, Iruka has taken a detour home to pick up lunch first before working on the fields. It's a daily routine now since there is nothing much to do in this Konoha - no missions, no desk to man, no classes to teach. The manual labor keeps his mind occupied, away from what he misses, what he likes and the lingering pit that is homesickness.
Today, he will work on a new field, just outside the village itself, an expanse of greenery and plantations. The crops there are in full bloom and ready to be harvested. He is aiming for a big amount today, a simple goal to motivate and distract himself.
He jumps down from the trees and on to the dirt path that'd take him to his new rice fields. A figure makes him pause and blink before his feet carries him to the person he did not recall being around Konoha at all. "Anko-san?" He says, unsure, cautious, still a few feet away and footsteps slowing down.
A familiar voice is enough to snap Anko out of her shock; relieved, she looks up, running her fingers through her hair as she does so. "Iruka-san." She smiles awkwardly. "It's good to see you. I thought I was going crazy there for a second. I woke up in this..." Her hands wave around madly, trying to somehow convey the concept of a giant garden that came out of nowhere and kidnapped her in her sleep. "This big... Oh, forget it. Anyway, if you could point me in the direction of the village, I'll--"
Her sentence is interrupted by a huge gasp that sounds like it might have sucked all the air out of the surrounding area. Village. Morning. The Chuunin Exams. Oh, shit. "I'm supposed to be at a meeting," Anko hisses, hands now pulling her hair down around her ears. "They're supposed to pick the new chuunin today--the funeral, I forgot--shitShe glances around frantically, utterly lost as to which way the village is--but she can't be too far out, right? "Big green place?" Iruka supplies and chuckles a little bit. From the many pockets of his uniform, he pulls out the map scroll Kakashi gave him a few days ago. This, he hands over to Anko. "Village is that way and I doubt you'll be missing any meetings." He pauses, thinking of what to say.
"Kakashi-sensei would explain things better. You might run in to him or Gai-sensei, or Yondaime-Hokage-sama. This ... well, it's Konoha but isn't Konoha, Anko-san. Not the one we both know at least. No one's here. Not the village, not the people. Just a handful of us and a few foreigners." He thinks of Akira for a moment and gives Anko a small smile, almost apologetic for being rather direct and quite blunt in some ways.
Anko takes the scroll, and blinks at Iruka. Several times. "No one's..." She frowns. "But...how? I was at Sandaime's funeral yesterday--how'd...I saw you!"
Kidnapped in her sleep, and taken to this similar-to-Konoha-but-not-Konoha place? Maybe, but how far away from the village could it have been? How could she be taken so far in so short a period of time? And how could Iruka have beaten her here, been here first to know all this? She'd seen him yesterday.
Suddenly, Anko is afraid.
"I'll--talk to you later, Iruka-san!" she shouts over her shoulder, already at a run towards the village marked on the map he gave her. Maybe this is a prank. Maybe.
