[When both Rin and Marco woke up outside Tsuchisato (again), they realize two things:

One: They can't get back inside of the village.

and Two: there are people here. Lots and lots of people. As though they weren't here the day before, as though they weren't here during the monster incursion. So they both decided to head to Hisato, see how the others are holding up. When Marco realized the house he used to stay in was also occupied, they had to look around to find something. Anything.

So they stumbled down to here, figured out their measly payments though the animals they killed, got a room, and well -

Marco's just hoping that others might come.]

[ Itachi had not been overly concerned by his removal from the house. It had been a dwelling. A roof and clothing. Nothing more. He is accustomed to surviving with far less than that. Leaving with Sasuke, walking through the throngs of people -- it does call to mind memories of his journeys. Missions. Kisame had been beside him in the past. Now, his brother occupies that place.

He has ignored the people to the crowds to the best of his ability. Certainly, he has wondered about the sudden growth in population, but as a missing-nin, you grow trained to see everyone while seeing no one. You notice each motion of a stranger -- the danger inherent in any nuance of movement -- but you close your eyes to their individuality.

Crowds, villages: Faceless bodies in a progression.

Itachi has been drinking tea at the koi pond. He is not wearing his cloak.

He is standing in the hallway when he notices the boy making his way towards his room. ]

Maahko-san.

Hello.

[If there's one person who is nonplussed at people poking at his forehead, it's Bob. But then again, nothing bothers the guy. If Visser Three comes in with a tutu on his head, the guy wouldn't even bother to blink.]

Hey man.

Got people poking at your forehead too?

[Sasuke, on the other hand, is not taking the forehead poking nearly as well.

There are dark circles under his eyes, partly because he didn't get much sleep last night, and partly because apparently no one here understands that Sasuke does not like to be touched. Sasuke's current glare is somewhere between murderous and utterly defeated.

Sasuke scoffs at Marco, which is sort of a hello. He has decided after careful consideration that Marco is to be acknowledged. He is sort of interesting, in a completely-unrelated-to-anything-he-cares-about way. A curiosity, of sorts. Thus, the snort.]

[ Safety.

Or at least this is as safe as they can be for the time being.

Not that they really are in danger, really, so much as being stalked by a lot of people that came out of nowhere. And everywhere. Poking and prodding at them and what the hell were they doing lying naked outside in the middle of the road?! In broad daylight, too ( ... )

It looks normal.

[Iruka only speaks for the sake of speaking. Because as much as he has respect for these gods (for being gods), there are just some things that transcends beyond ludicrous. He is still unable to ward the the shame and embarrassment from waking up in the middle of the street naked. With his lover.

There are just some things he cannot accept.

And it's visible with how he stares at the ryokan like it's some sort of fungi tainting the cleanliness of his home, or something lower than that of a worm. He does not understand anything. Not the poking, not the questions and certainly not the strange looks.

Excuse them but Iruka is quite sure they were in Kannagara first. They are the odd ones.

All that poking! Who the hell pokes people? So rudely too!

Iruka twitches. Again. Some more.]

[ Kaskashi sighs a little. They're going to have to enter the building eventually, instead of just standing in the middle of the road staring up at it.

He is acutely aware of a few villagers that have stopped in the middle of the road to stare at Iruka and him, whispering to one another about them. Like they are some kind of strange specimen in a zoo and not living, breathing people.

He slides a hand out and gently places it against Iruka's back, nudging him towards the doors of the ryokan. ]

Come on.

[Iruka walks towards the doors but not before throwing the most vicious look that sent those very people moving away quickly. What happened to manners these days? He knows that Kakashi is very odd looking with his mask and his cow-lick shaped hair do. But really, now.

He is not in the mood. But he pushes the door open and walks in with a beaming smile.]

[There are too many people. At least, before, the villages--the entire world, it seemed--had been empty. It had been easy to avoid the other people here because of their relatively limited number, but now-- The streets are suddenly full of people, and all of them too interested. Staring, muttering to each other. One woman had touched his shoulder, poked it--and that was more startling than being locked outside of the house he'd claimed as his own. He'd moved quickly away, but his shoulder still feels strange, even now ( ... )

[The sound of a voice startles Near, but he only raises his shoulders slightly in response, hunching down for a quiet moment. He stares at the fish, their scales bright and flashing even in the dimness of the light. Their mouths open and close, their eyes film and blink. He doesn't look up, but quickly studies this person in his peripheral vision.

This is that person. Kakashi. Near straightens his shoulders slightly.]

I don't want to kill them. I don't like eating fish.

[He isn't used to conversations, small talk, anything like that--but this is the person who L said to trust. Near looks over at him, his gaze intent. He has a similar presence as he does over the Hitomi. What does L find trustworthy about him?]

The water just feels good.

[He looks back at it, wriggles his fingers slightly. He isn't hungry, and even if he was, the taste of fish is slightly revolting for the most part.]

What are you doing?

AFTER TALKIN' TO BOB AND BOB JUNIOR guerrilla_morph June 18 2010, 05:47:39 UTC
[Marco hasn't got a bath since, well, a long time. In the airship, actually. So he feels like a little bath is in order.

But there's the fact that, well, Marco is not used to the idea of a bath house. And a pubic one at that. That seems a little maybe . . . a little archaic? But its not like there's a shower here. Or even plumbing besides the toilet. And seriously: Marco is a kid who lives in the Hork-Bajir valley but also steals the Chee's shower when he gets the chance. So he's not up to complain about it. Just get in and get out.]

[Iruka is rotating a shoulder, towel around his waist and just generally ... exasperated. Granted, at least the entire situation isn't like that time where their villages were attacked by numerous monsters. But really now.

The first thing he does notice is Marco in the bath already. Oh, well.

And because bathhouses are common and normal, he pretty much just smiles, steps in and soaks up to the neck.]

You were kicked out of your home too, I see. Are you all right?

[Thank god Iruka is not the type of pervert who will "unknowingly" flash easily traumatized teenagers. Marco shrugged in a way that says "I'm fine."]

That and the village we were staying at. Rin and I woke up in the woods - again - and when we tried to get back inside the village, we practically walked into an invisible wall. So we head back to Hisato to see if anyone else is holding up.
