[Deidara is wandering throughout Iwagakure. Under most circumstances his first thought would be to bomb the hell out of the place, but it was so different, so intact when it really shouldn't have been, and so old that he's exploring, confused. He pauses to poke his head into the house he'd slept in the night before, wondering again if some of the more modern amenities would pop into existence simply from him willing them there, and sighs as they refuse him.

Then he hears that voice. He shudders.]

Dammit. Where is that idiot...

[ He's flailing about somewhere on the mountain! This is the Iwa he'd only ever heard about in legends. The Iwa that hasn't existed in hundreds of years. It's like he found a time machine. Except there's nobody here! ]

SENPAAAAAAAAAAAAI!!!

[ Oh hey, check that out, his voice is ECHOING. ]

[Oh god, Deidara isn't sure he really wants to go find him. ...But Tobi would probably fall down the mountain if left on his own, so, heaving a sigh, Deidara takes off on a clay bird to retrieve his partner.]

Shut up, un!

[As soon as he finds Tobi, Deidara leaps off the bird and tries to land directly on top of him.]

[ And of course, because Tobi is Tobi, and not Madara, have a Tobi going SPLAT under a Deidara!]

Oof! [ He falls heavily under the blond's weight ]

[Kisame has settled in fairly well, all things considered; it's not quite the home he remembers, but it's still home enough for him, and it would be a lie to say that he hasn't been homesick every so often for the past decade or so. It's too old and it's too empty, but.... dammit, it's his, and he's glad to be back.]

[Since there seems to be so little else to do, other than survive, Kisame has taken to training in one of the practice fields on Kirigakure's slopes, sparring with wrapped Samehadas with a water clone.]

[He pauses in mid-clash as he hears a very familiar wailing, forcing his clone into a standstill as he listens, then dismisses it with a splash. Samehada hefted onto his shoulder, Kisame starts making his way towards the source of the racket.] Tobi-san?

[This home he had carved in mist and shadow was not the home he remembered; too old, too unlike what he'd built with his hands, not all what it should've been. These rickety little shack-huts were like the ones in paintings and tapestries of times hundreds of years ago; long before the times of war.

Chakra, buzzing overwhelming strong and trained, was the only familiar thing at all about this place.]

[But even still, have a Tobi standing at the entrance of the village.]

SEN-- [He suddenly breaks off when he sees who it is, his posture straightening.]

[This place, ancient and quaint though it was, strange and different though it was, would never lose the ache of familiarity to Kisame; the buildings were different perhaps, yes, and the people he had always known gone. But the land.... the land was the same, and the water-blood-life running through it and curling over and around it was the same, and so was its magnificent heart.]

[And since it is familiar, Kisame is confident, and moves quickly to intercept this also-familiar chakra. He moves in broad, swift leaps and bounds, carrying himself with a speed and dexterity a mountain goat would be proud of to reach the entrance of the village once more. Grinning, he lifts his free hand in greeting, coming to a stop not far away; he seems a little confused at the abrupt halt in the shouting, though he shrugs it off as simply Tobi spotting him and not needing to call for people anymore.] Tobi-san! You okay? When did you get here?

[Kisame is calling him Tobi, and not Mizukage-sama, though Madara clearly remembers telling Kisame the truth. But this world that is and isn't theirs, one both old and new, is as strange as the circumstances of how they arrived. If Kisame doesn't remember, there has to be a reason for it.

So Tobi waves an arm wildly as he approaches Kisame.]

Ahh! Kisame-san! I didn't think I'd find you here!
