Deidara couldn't stand staying in one place for too long. Staying still was like stopping, and stopping was like dying, and while there was nothing really wrong with death--it was inevitable, after all--the idea of doing anything like it without a certain amount of flash unsettled him. And so, even having Iwagakure all to himself, even knowing Amegakure was another option, he was hard-pressed to stay anywhere for more than a night or two. Maybe spending so much time as a missing-nin had really started to screw with his habits. When had it been when he'd had a safe place to rest, before this strange situation? But he had stayed in Suna for some time, far beyond what he would have liked, and even stayed in Ame, watching Sasori. But Sasori was normal again, so he'd started moving again.
But just the same he couldn't abide by all the silence. He was used to traveling with a partner: first Sasori and then Tobi. He definitely wasn't about to go looking for Tobi. But he knew Sasori was in Ame, and with travel as fast as it could be when you

Sasori sighed. So much for relaxing, uninterrupted time to devote to his work.
For one brief moment, Sasori considered simply pretending he wasn't home, but he knew that Deidara would be irritatingly persistent in attempting to track him down, and so he went to the door to greet his partner.
“What do you want? I'm busy,” Sasori said, scowling, once he'd opened the door.
Deidara realized he was interrupting Sasori's work, but he still scowled a bit at the response. After all, it wasn't as if he'd been hanging off of Sasori's sleeve, and Deidara had come all this way to see him (that it had taken a half hour wasn't as important as the fact that he'd been over by Kiri before).
"Nice to see you, too, un," Deidara said flatly, and shrugged. "It's not like there's anything going on right now."
So, Deidara was irritated? At least they were on even footing then.
“Perhaps not for you, since there's no one to blow up at the moment, but I was in the middle of an important project,” Sasori said.
He huffed, but nonetheless stood aside to allow Deidara to enter. “Well, you may as well come in, since I know it will be impossible to get rid of you until you've irritated me enough for your liking.”
Deidara rolled his eyes, but smirked just the same and walked in, glancing over at the project Sasori had mentioned. It only reminded him of the war, short as it had been, and strangely as if had ended. And it reminded him of Sasori's death, which he hadn't thought about for some time. He looked away, back to his partner. Sasori's death didn't matter; it had happened, and somehow this place brought people back. It didn't matter.
"Maybe I was just making a pleasant social call, un," Deidara said, considering if he could get away with sitting on one of the tables.
He didn't want to think about Sasori's death, and yet--Hm. Something about it just--
