Madara.

It looks as if you have your stars, this evening.

[ Madara is getting dressed, pulling on a crisp red yukata over skin that has seen too much war. Hiding the scars under the cotton. ]

I am looking forward to watching them with you and Naruto... and Konan, of course.

[ He smiles. It is soft. ]

I know you are not very fond of merrymaking and enjoying festivities.

[ Another arm goes into a sleeve, and then Madara crosses over to Nagato, raising his hand up to his face with a gentle caress of thumb. ]

But I do hope you find a way to enjoy yourself tonight. It would please me greatly if you do find some joy in this.

Well, I suppose that makes the two of us.

[ Madara's fingers trace a light path down Nagato's jaw, pressing lightly against his chin before dropping down. ]

Have you seen the lanterns yet?

[ He steps away, to retrieve an obi, so he can close his yukata, wrap it properly. ]

[Sasori sighs pleasantly when he reaches the entrance to the complex. It's truly a lovely evening, and it's been years since he's attended any sort of festival. Fond memories from his youth pass through his mind, from when he was very little; Suna may have been a harsh village, and one at war, but there were still festivals from time to time.

He straightens the neckline of his yukata, an understated darker green that serves as a reminder that he's quite a bit older than he looks.

He smiles, and holds out his arm to his dear wife beside him, who's looking absolutely radiant in the yukata he'd given her.]

You look beautiful tonight, my dear. Shall we?

[Sakura smiles and takes his arm.]

Yes.

[Festivals like this always make her feel like a child. That light-hearted giddiness that bubbles up in her brings her back to the days when she was a girl clutching at her mother's hip, dazzled and fascinated by the lights, the sounds, the smells.

Something of that small girl lingers, though she wears women's clothing and walks arm and arm with her husband, as they step into the Uchiha district, full of light.]

Beautiful.

[She echoes, but she's talking about the complex.]

[Sasori glances over at his wife while they enter the courtyard. He can see the delight on her face, and it makes him smile softly.]

Hmm, I imagine you must enjoy festivals a great deal, my dear, from the look on your face.

I admit that I haven't been to one in many years.

I'm glad I could take you to this one, then.

[Leans over to kiss him quickly on the cheek.]

I wonder who else is here...

That's a backwards way to enjoy an Obon Festival.

[Yuyuko is decked out in a blue yukata with pink flowers and green vines. It's quite a young-looking design, but really, she's only 1100.]

[Chitose is trying to look at everything at once. She's dressed nicely in a pink yukata, butterflies and flowers decorating it, and while she had spent quite some time studying the patterns ealier, now she wants to see every paper lantern and piece of food. She's tried most of the food, too--and even snuck a sip of sake when no one was paying attention (she decided peach juice tasted a lot better and grown-ups were weird for liking it so much).

She's running below the wires strung in the trees, following the lanterns around the compound.]

[Iruka walks in to the Uchiha district a little after sunset, donning a dark blue yukata and a red obi. He keeps his hair down instead of its usual tight high ponytail this time. It has been a while since he's gone to a festival of any sorts that is just for a leisurely purpose and one that didn't include being a volunteer of the 'help' committee or getting dragged in to the said help committee ( ... )
